Dewan Ketahanan Nasional yang dikenal dengan sebutan Wantannas mengundang Narabahasa, diwakili oleh Ivan Lanin, dalam diskusi peraturan kebahasaan pada Rabu, 3 April 2024, di Kantor Sekretariat Jenderal (Sekjen) Wantannas yang berlokasi di daerah Harmoni, Jakarta. Acara tersebut mendiskusikan dua topik utama, yaitu eksistensi bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa resmi internasional dan peningkatan kualitas pendidikan nasional di kala gemuruh penggunaan teknologi berbasis kecerdasan buatan dan realitas virtual. Selain Ivan Lanin, pemateri lainnya adalah Ari Purbayanto, Kepala Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT).
Ivan Lanin, yang akrab disapa Uda, mengulas dan membahas isu eksistensi bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa resmi internasional. Bahan diskusi didasarkan pada tujuh peraturan perundang-undangan tentang bahasa, yaitu suatu undang-undang (UU), satu peraturan pemerintah (PP), satu peraturan presiden (perpres), dan empat peraturan menteri (permen). Ketujuh hal tersebut dapat disingkat menjadi PPU, peraturan perundang-undangan.
Uniknya, fokus utama diskusi adalah fungsi bahasa Indonesia menjadi bahasa internasional, sesuai dengan PP 57/2014.
“Hasil diskusi akan dijadikan bahan Apresiasi Strategis Nasional (Apstranas) 2025 Bidang Sosial Budaya Wantannas yang akan diajukan kepada Presiden RI,” ujar Berkat Widjanarto, pemimpin rapat.
Uda Ivan berpandangan positif jika bahasa Indonesia akan dijadikan bahasa internasional. Namun, ia juga memberikan nasihat kecil bahwa alangkah lebih baik jika penutur asli bahasa Indonesia lebih aktif menggunakan bahasa ibu dibandingkan bahasa asing.
